Majority of travelers go by themselves or in couples. Therefore, when cancellations occur usually 1 or 2 places are cancelled. Though cancellations for 3-4 do happen, they are very rare and the chances are very low.

I was traveling in New Zealand and did not book some of the tracks in advance. When I did want to book them - all the places have already been taken. Since I could not constantly check for cancellations, it was almost impossible to book these tracks. NZtracker will keep searching for available places for you and you will keep getting notification until you decide to unsubscribe.

This means that there are available places during the period you are waiting for but you did not book (and did not unsubscribe from the service).
- One possibility for this is that rather than waiting for any cancellation within this period, you are waiting for cancellation on a specific date.
- Another possibility is that you simply missed the previous notifications and did not book.

Since NZtracker can not differ between such scenarios, and its purpose is notify about available places to book, it will keep sending you alerts as there are available places for you to book.
